Summary: How section markups and overall markups combine.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Each section has its own markup % (metal, stones, labour, etc.).
  2. Defaults come from Business Settings → Default Markups.
  3. An optional overall markup applies on top of the subtotal.
  4. BenchFlow shows the resulting margin in the Summary panel and warns if a section markup is unusually low.
  5. Markups are stored with the quote — changing defaults later will not affect saved quotes.

Common issues

  • Margin looks wrong — confirm both section markup and overall markup; they multiply, not add.
  • Warning: low margin — review your labour and metal markup before sending.
