Importing Clients from Dubsado

If you're moving from Dubsado, you can bring your full client list into BenchFlow via CSV.

1. Export your clients from Dubsado

  1. In Dubsado, open Clients in the left sidebar.
  2. (Optional) Use the filters to narrow to active clients.
  3. Click the ⋯ More menu at the top of the client list.
  4. Choose Export to CSV.
  5. Dubsado emails you a download link. Save the file to your computer.

2. Import into BenchFlow

  1. In BenchFlow, open Clients.
  2. Click Import Clients.
  3. Upload the Dubsado CSV.
  4. On the Map columns step, confirm the auto-mapping. Dubsado typically exports:
  • First Name, Last Name → First Name / Last Name (BenchFlow combines these into Full Name)
  • Email → Email
  • Phone → Phone
  • Address, City, State, Zip → Address
  • Partner First Name → Partner Name
  • Wedding Date → Anniversary (manually map this one)
  1. Choose Skip duplicates (recommended) and click Import.

3. What if I have wedding/event dates?

Map Dubsado's Wedding Date column to Anniversary in BenchFlow so it appears in your anniversary reminders. BenchFlow stores one anniversary per client.

4. What about projects, invoices and forms?

Only client contact details are imported. Project history, invoices, contracts and forms stay in Dubsado. You'll create new quotes, proposals and jobs in BenchFlow as they come in.

Troubleshooting

  • Custom fields not appearing — BenchFlow only imports fields it recognises. If you store something important in a Dubsado custom field, copy it into the Notes column before importing.
  • Multiple email addresses — only the primary email is imported. Add secondary emails to Notes if needed.

If anything looks off after the import, you can roll it back from Clients → Import History.
